National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the nation's largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands. On NPLD, thousands of volunteers and park visitors participate in service based projects and learn about the environment, natural resources, and the value of public land. 

National Green Week is an annual event that empowers schools to engage in sustainability focused lessons, projects or activities between the first full week in February and the end of April. Participating districts, schools, classrooms or youth groups choose a week, then select from GEF's sustainability focused programs to be their ‘green theme.’ Each theme provides 5 day standards-based lesson sets, activities, recommended reading, sustainability tips, contests, and more.

International Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day.This event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record breaking participation – each October.
